Escapes & Romantic Breaks With Coco Wedding Venues

More and more of us are choosing to holiday here in the UK and let’s be honest, it’s a beautiful place to be. I have a weakness for the glorious areas that surround Coco & Kate here in the West Midlands so I’m thrilled that the fabulous Emma from the super sexy wedding venue directory that is Coco Wedding Venues has given me a little list of five fabulous venues in this area that are beyond perfect for romantic escapes and altogether brilliant minimoons. If you’re looking for a special spot, read on.

Foxhill Manor

The glorious Foxhill is not your average hotel. Set in the 400 acre Farncombe Estate in Worcestershire, it’s the most luxurious of retreats. Five heavenly bedrooms and three sumptuous suites await you and each room has been individually designed with a cool Scandi vibe (don’t forget the freestanding baths!). There’s an in-house cinema and spa plus loads of options for outdoor activities and, if you make it off the estate, the chocolate box villages of the Cotswolds are just begging to be discovered.

The team at Foxhill Manor want you to relax so there aren’t any set meal times or menus. The kitchen is at your disposal, you can eat where you like and feast on whatever you like. Mix yourself drinks from the trolley, help yourself to cakes and don’t forget The Pantry – a complimentary cupboard of goodies on the first floor that await you. In short, it’s laid back and utterly decadent at Foxhill.

Rowton Castle

The rolling Shropshire countryside is home to Rowton Castle and you’ll feel a million miles from the everyday the moment you step into the 17 acres of tranquil grounds. Woodland walks; hidden pools and a quintessentially English walled garden provide the perfect backdrop to your Castle getaway.

There are nineteen atmospheric bedrooms within the castle and make sure you ask for one of the seven that come complete with period four-poster beds. Dine in the wonderful Cedar Restaurant where you’ll be waited on hand, foot and finger whilst you indulge with delicious delicacies.

Laughern Hill

The light, bright and totally elegant Laughern Hill is a stunning five star Georgian mansion just five miles from Worcester. Take your pick from one of five heavenly bedrooms and enjoy period features, fantastic views and deep baths that entice you to linger longer!

Beyond the pretty grounds, you’ll find the Malvern Hills, the Cotswolds, Cheltenham Race, Worcester itself and the foodie destination of Ludlow. For peace and privacy in a truly English country retreat, you don’t need to look any further than Laughern Hill.

Walcot Hall

Shropshire’s Walcot Hall is so special and so unique that I really don’t know I should share Emma’s recommendation as I want to keep it all for myself! Walcot Hall is home to all manner of accommodation from traditional holiday apartments to a converted Victoria tin chapel, yurts, a gypsy caravan and an old fire truck that comes complete with a brass bed tucked in the back!

Ironbridge, Ludlow and Bishops Castle are some of the Shropshire towns that will be on your doorstep and the team at Walcot Hall is on hand to help you so pick their brains and get all the local info you could want. In the grounds, you can tour the historic house, explore the grounds and gardens or book fishing and horse riding. It’s a holiday location unlike any other.

Combermere Abbey

Drive through the gates of Combermere Abbey and discover this beautiful place for yourself. Ten award winning cottages are available for you to escape to and the Stone Lodge is a true gothic hideaway. It’s right on the edge of the estate and comes with its own private entrance, sun filled terrace and damson orchard.

Rural Shropshire is just beyond the gates and you could hop on over into North Wales too. Cheshire and Staffordshire are also within striking distance and Nantwich, Whitchurch and Market Drayton all have weekly markets and specialist food shops. Alton Towers is also less than an hour away if you’d like a thrilling interlude to your peaceful break!

A huge thank you to Emma from Coco Wedding Venues for this little taster of the amazing locations you’ll find on her site and I think the only question is – which one will you visit first?!

Love,
